Send a document for e-signature, keep the audit trail .
Upload a document, drop in signature and date fields, send it, and watch it move from sent to signed — with every step timestamped so you can show your working later, not just the finished PDF.
From connected to filed, in four moves.
Everything this plan files, keeps and tells you.
Files for you
Finished documents land in Vault by themselves.
- The signed PDF, into VaultFiled automatically the moment the last signer completes it.
- Signature and date fields, suggested for youUpload a document and AI proposes where signature, date and text fields belong on the page — you still add, move or delete any of them before sending.
Keeps for you
A timestamped record of who did what, and when.
- A timestamped audit trailEvery send, view and signature recorded against the document.
- A tamper-evident completion recordEach completed envelope's evidence is hashed and anchored, so a change afterwards is detectable rather than just trusted.
- Signing links only the right person can useEach signer's link is a per-recipient signed token tied to that specific envelope; resending a document invalidates the old link and issues a fresh one.
Tells you
Where a signature has got to, without emailing to ask.
- Who has opened it, and who hasn'tReal-time status per signer, without emailing to ask.
- A public page anyone can use to check a completionNo sign-in needed — the verification page confirms whether a completed envelope's evidence still checks out, without exposing the document itself.
E-Sign vs DocuSign.
| Row | ac-co E-SignIncluded in every paid plan | DocuSignStandard plan |
|---|---|---|
| Price | Included — a monthly envelope allowance, then a small per-envelope fee (see /pricing) | £25 per user/month [DocuSign UK — eSignature pricing, 2026-09-13] |
| Sequential signing with reminders | Yes | Yes |
| Signed documents filed automatically | Straight into Vault | Downloaded manually, or via a separate integration |
| Advanced workflow builder & bulk sendWhere DocuSign wins: a firm sending hundreds of near-identical envelopes a month gets a mature bulk-send UI and template gallery — ours has the engine (CSV → one run per row) but not yet a page to use it from. | No visual workflow builder; bulk send runs via API only, no in-product screen yet | Yes |
DocuSign figures are from its own published UK pricing, checked 13 September 2026 — check its site for anything that may have changed since. DocuSign is a trademark of its owner; ac-co.ai is not affiliated.
Before you buy.
Is e-signing here legally binding?
Electronic signatures are legally recognised in the UK for the vast majority of business documents. For anything that specifically requires a wet-ink or witnessed signature — some deeds and property transactions — check with your solicitor first.
What's actually in the audit trail?
Every send, view and signature event on a document, each timestamped — not just the finished PDF, but the working that shows how it got there.
What if the signer has no ac-co account?
They don't need one. Signers get a link by email and sign in the browser; only your side needs to be signed in.
Can I send to more than one signer, in order?
Yes — set the signing order once and each signer is prompted after the one before them, with reminders if it stalls.
Can I use my own branding?
The signing page carries your organisation's name today; a fully branded, white-label signing flow is not yet available.
Can I tell if a signed document has been tampered with afterwards?
Yes — each completed envelope's evidence is hashed and anchored, and a public verification page (no sign-in needed) checks whether that hash still matches, independent of trusting our own database.
How do you stop someone else opening a signer's link?
Each signing link is a per-recipient signed token tied to that specific envelope — only a valid token unlocks the document, and resending a document mints a fresh token and invalidates the old link.
Do I have to place every field by hand?
No — upload a document and AI proposes where signature, date and text fields belong from the page layout itself. You can still add, move or delete any of them before sending.
