WHAT YOU GET

Everything this gives each client.

Files for you

Through the recognised HMRC channel, on your approval.

  • Every client's SA100 through the recognised HMRC channelOpen any client's return straight from the board and file it, on your approval.
  • One submission channel, not twoAgent filing runs through the same HMRC-recognised SA100 route ac-co's individual product uses — no separate agent-only pipeline to trust.

Keeps for you

Your client authorisations, current and in one place.

  • 64-8 authorisation status per clientWho's authorised, pending or lapsed — no spreadsheet on the side.
  • A durable record behind every requestEach 64-8 request keeps its own row — pending, authorised, withdrawn or expired — independent of HMRC's own invitation list, which drops an unanswered request after 30 days.

Tells you

The whole client list's position, on one board.

  • Deadlines and outstanding obligationsAcross your whole client list, in one board instead of the HMRC portal client by client.
  • Every status HMRC itself would showNot issued, issued, received, submitted, overdue or unknown, per client and tax year.
  • An authorisation about to lapseFlagged inside the last 7 days of HMRC's 30-day invitation window, before it expires and blocks a filing on deadline day.
PLAN

Priced by client count, free on Practice.

These four tiers are billed by how many clients your Agent Services Account covers — not part of the entity price book, because this tool prices a client count rather than a plan. On the Practice plan, this ladder is included at no extra cost.

OBJECTIONS

Before you buy.

Do I need a new Agent Services Account, or does my old agent login work?

Connect your existing Agent Services Account (ASA) and Agent Reference Number (ARN) — if you're still on an old-style agent login only, HMRC's own ASA registration is the first step.

How does bulk 64-8 authorisation tracking work?

Once your ASA is connected, every client's 64-8 status syncs into one board — authorised, pending or lapsed — so a lapse shows up before it stops you filing on deadline day.

What counts as a client for the ladder below?

Any client whose Self Assessment status you're tracking through your connected Agent Services Account, whether or not you file for them through us yet.

Do I need the full Practice OS workspace to use this?

No — this page's tools run standalone today. Practice OS adds the shared client record, AML/KYC and omnichannel inbox around the same filing tools, and this ladder is free once you're on the Practice plan.

Can I try it against HMRC's test service first?

Filing for a client goes through the same HMRC-recognised SA100 channel individual filers use — sandbox testing against HMRC's own test service is part of that same submission path, not a separate one.

How fresh is the client status board?

As fresh as the last time the agent browser extension synced with the HMRC portal — the board shows exactly when that was and how many clients it covered, so a stale status is visible rather than silent.

What happens if a client ignores my 64-8 request?

Nothing for 30 days — that's how long HMRC keeps an unanswered authorisation request open before dropping it. After that the board marks it expired instead of leaving it looking merely "pending", so you know to re-send it.

What does a client showing "unknown" actually mean?

The board hasn't matched a recognised HMRC status for that client and tax year yet — different from "not issued", which means HMRC genuinely hasn't issued a return. Re-syncing the extension usually resolves it.

What happens to my client authorisations if I turn agent tools off?

Every live authorisation is soft-withdrawn — marked as withdrawn by the organisation rather than deleted — so the audit trail stays intact. Turning agent tools back on clears that freeze, but re-authorising each client is a fresh step; nothing is silently restored to "authorised".
